LOS ANGELES, CA- Earlier this year, Blurred Culture spent a week in Austin to discover new music, and we sure saw a lot of it. A band that we actually caught by chance was the British band Easy Life. This band caught me off guard, as these blokes brought some serious vibes to the scene with their brand of genre-blurring, jazz-infused funk. Their lead vocalist even played the trumpet, which was totally unexpected.
As it turns out, they’ve surprised me once again with the release of their newest single “Nice Guys”, which also happens to be their first release since signing to Interscope Records. It’s a track that not only blurs the lines between hip hop and R&B, but it also grooves with a swinging funk, which is accentuated with an Earth Wind and Fire like horn section.
With a newly announced tour set for early next year, I have a feeling we’ll be hearing more and more new music from this upstart new band. I think it’s time to put them on your radars right about now.
