LOS ANGELES, CA- Young Bombs are Tristan Norton and Martin Kottmeier and they produce some seriously bomb pop tracks.

Their latest release is a collaboration with an artist we’ve had our eye on since she wowed us at SXSW in 2019: Robinson.  Robinson’s saccharine sweet vocals float over the richly produced backing tracks, and the transition from country-tinged hook into the electronic dance chorus is seamless.

The production duo has joked of the song:

“Our whole lives, we used to take the low road. Over the past year, we began taking the middle road. On April 3, 2020, we will finally begin taking the high road.”

The duo’s humor is on full display in the accompanying lyric video as they take the country theme to comedic heights, using lo-fi greenscreen technology to superimpose their faces in country-themed scenes.

In my humble opinion, this song, and Young Bombs’ humor, are exactly what we need more of in today’s climate. You can’t deny the good feels that this song imbues. The effervescent sonics notwithstanding, its topic is all about being grateful for those who love you, regardless of all of the baggage you’re carrying.

You take the high road
I roll with the low blows
And you keep me grounded
When I am unstable
[…]
You take the high road
And baby I’m grateful for you

If you’ve been cooped and quarantined with someone during this pandemic, I’m sure you can relate. The video will also probably get you smiling as well.
