ZEDD Slays As Headliner For Day 1 Of Air + Style THOUGHTS+PHOTOS: ZEDD @ AIR + STYLE 3/3/18
LOS ANGELES, CA- The headliner for Day 1 of Air + Style was Zedd, and it was clear by the size of his crowd that a majority of the festival attendees were there to see, and hear, him perform. It was a rather interesting headliner insofar as during this same weekend was the electronic music festival CRSSD Fest, so my gut was telling me that most of these fans were here because they weren’t able to make the trek down to San Diego or weren’t able to purchase a sold-out ticket.
The Grammy award winning producer brought his A-game to Air + Style, in addition to his beyond amazing stage production. Elevated high upon the stage, illuminated by his intricate lighting scheme, his performance hit upon most of the human senses. The only things missing were fireworks and pyrotechnics.
If there was one thing that I was hoping for, it was a special appearance by someone he’s collaborated with. He’s produced so many with with so many artists, his performance would have been truly memorable if someone, anyone, showed up to perform a song live with him. Don’t get me wrong … I obviously don’t expect a Lady Gaga or Ariana Grande dropping in, but would a Matthew Koma or Aloe Blacc (who both, I think, live in LA) sighting been too much to ask? Maybe it is, but it would have been cool.
