LOS ANGELES, CA- Mental health has always been a serious issue, but it may be something we need to pay a little more attention in today’s COVID 19 world. With the amount of stress everybody been’s feeling during the quarantine, the rising indie-rock artist Stay Over wants you to know that you’re aren’t alone, and that he feels the stress too.

Stay Over incorporates his life experiences into his music, and is able to do so at the creative incubator Cacoon Malibu. After releasing his well-received single “Breaking Glass”, he dropped “Happy”. Produced by Cisco Adler and Robbie Winward, “Happy” is a song that he wrote pre-Covid19, but its sentiments can be relatable to any time. The video finds Stay Over acting the recluse in a party scene.

Of the song, Stay Over says:

“I wrote and recorded the demo for this song in Philly at the house I grew up in […] It’s about growing up. It’s about me trying to figure out what the fuck is going on. Trying to figure out why I’m not as happy as I used to be. Everyone in my life used to know me as the happy kid. Then over time I started getting sad. It’s been confusing. I’m coming to terms with it. Asking questions. Searching for answers. Trying to figure myself out. Accepting who I am and being okay with it.”

Stay Over intends to draw from human connections in his art to explore all human emotions. Hopefully, he can continue to do so during these strange times.
