Eight people were killed in New York City and several people injured Tuesday afternoon when a pickup drove down a bike path next to the Hudson River in lower Manhattan, striking multiple people, according to officials. It is a confirmed terror attack. Officials said it was an act of terror. Mayor Bill De Blasio said it was a “very painful day in our city….this was an act of terror and a particularly cowardly act of terror aimed at innocent civilians.
