WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA- The energy at Outloud Fest lit up when three world-renowned drag queens—Lana Ja’Rae, Kori King, and Acid Betty—stepped into the spotlight for the fierce and fabulous Lip Sync Battle Royale hosted by Bruno Alcantara.
A RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17 standout who finished in sixth place, Lana Ja’Rae hails from Dallas and first performed in Oklahoma before making her mark on TV and NYC stages. She is the drag daughter of Season 15 finalist Luxx Noir London and is celebrated for her high-fashion, supermodel energy and fierce lip-syncing abilities. Lana identifies as transgender-fluid and uses she/they pronouns in drag, embodying both bold femininity and inclusivity
A powerhouse performer from RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17, Kori King brings razor-sharp wit and stage presence that quickly made her a fan favorite. Hailing from Boston, she earned the “Best New Performer to Watch” title early in her career and is known for powerful lip-sync performances and compelling commentary on drag culture.
Brooklyn’s own Acid Betty, was a vibrant contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 8 and is known for her gender-fluid aesthetics, avant-garde makeup, and bold costume choices. A critic of standardized drag, Acid’s performances challenge conformity, delivering creativity and unapologetic style .
Overseeing the fierce competition with charisma and professionalism, host Bruno Alcantara—known to Drag Race fans as a member of the Pit Crew—kept the lip sync energy electrifying throughout the night.
Together, Lana Ja’Rae’s supermodel finesse, Kori King’s sharp stagecraft, and Acid Betty’s boundary-breaking artistry produced a memorable showdown. Their performances not only showcased their incredible talent, but also embodied the spirit of queer creativity and pride that Outloud Fest celebrates. Do I remember who the winner was? Does it really matter? No, it doesn’t. They were all fabulous.
