Los Angeles, CA- On 6/14/17, I had the pleasure of catching Lily McQueen opening for Honor at The Echo. This Los Angeles based pop vocalist recently released her debut LP, “Electric Love” (Concierge Records) and it is filled with songs that will throw you back into one of those emotional, coming of ages, John Hughes’ movie scenes moments.

Performing as a trio with a Errol Bilgin on the axe and a drummer, her performance, like her music, was whimsically relaxed. While she was manning the synths during her performance, it would have been nice to see her step out from behind her keyboard especially for some of her more upbeat songs.

But learning how to use the stage will come with time. If you’re looking for new music that vibes with the 80s that’ll get your body to “snake” or “clone”, you’re feet and body will thank you if you give Lily McQueen a listen.
