It may be a little while before fans across the U.S. will be able to see Jeremih perform live on stage, so I’m especially glad that I was able to see him headline Red Bull Sound Select’s 11th days in L.A. for “30 Days In LA”, the line-up of which was curated by Fake Shore Drive. And boy … did he put on a show.

It’s no surprise that women made up the majority of the audience that was in attendance. With Top Ten Hot 100 slow jams like “Birthday Sex” and club bangers like “Down on Me”, it was a certainty that the L.A. lovelies would be out in full force … and I had absolutely no problem with that. Trust me, I’m a dude, so I totally enjoyed the eye candy. I just wasn’t expecting them to be all aggressively up in my face. Let me explain…

As I made my way into the photo pit to shoot my 3 songs, I was able to score a spot center-stage. All of a sudden, a small hand grabbed and shook my shoulder. I turned around to find a petit girl giving me the stink eye, and warning me, “You can’t stand there.”

Look. I get that you’ve probably been standing up front all night to get the best view of your favorite artist, but I’m only up there for three songs to snap some photos, and odds are, I’ll be moving around to get different angles. I tried to explain that to this fan, and even offered her an original photo I took of Jeremih in order cool tempers. She just started yelling at me louder. LOL. I moved. Not because I had to or wanted to, but I want everybody to be in a good state of mind during the performance. Thankfully, the woman that I moved in front of was much more reasonable. Ok … I’m done venting … on the the performance.

Jeremih absolutely slayed. Having worked with a plethora of L.A. based artists, I anticipated there to be a special guest appearance. What I didn’t expected was the sheer quantity of extra talent that would be gracing the stage that evening.

The first special guest was Natalie La Rose, whose debut single, “Somebody”, featured Jeremih. The performance of the song, which peaked at No.12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and marked Natalie La Rose’s breakthrough into the mainstream, had everyone singing along with the hook. That was the appetizer.

After wooing the crowd with his silky R&B vocals, and the getting room to sing along to his track “Oui”, The Game slyly crept on stagen from the shadows to perform his Jeremih duet “All Eyez” which was released earlier this year. The cheers from the crowd was deafening. It was the kind of special guest that maybe you hoped for, but didn’t bank on. After all, it’s THE GAME.

After The Game spit his verses, he vanished from stage as quickly as he arrived. Jeremih continued his solo performance by crooning out more of his hits, even taking a moment to ask if it was anybody’s birthday in the audience. One lucky lady (not the one who was accosting me earlier) was pulled up on stage and was serenaded with some “Birthday Sex”. During his performance of “Impatient”, Ty Dolla $ign joined him on stage, though I think he was only there as a show of support and didn’t vocalize on the mic.

As the performance was winding down, Jeremih took a moment to reflect on the recent elections, during which the beat for “FTD” started playing. If you thought the cheers for The Game was loud, YG’s entrance was that times two, especially with the “Fuck Donald Trump” lyrics shaking the venue’s foundation.  The two shut down the evening with a pair of collaborations but only one of which (“Don’t Tell ‘Em”) I could recognize.

If you were lucky enough to attend this Red Bull Sound Select Show for the $15 price of admission, you definitely got your monies worth. Fake Shore Drive, Red Bull Sound Select and Jeremih knocked it out the park with this one.
