With a name like “Dude York”, one would have have expected the band to be from New York. Nope. Try Seattle, WA. But if there something that I could glean from this band just by their name, it’s that they are a good humored trio who like to rock it out.

It was a short set, but the band’s good nature and inclination towards having fun was on full display. In the dimly lit room, amidst heavy, distorted guitar riffs churning out powerpop jams, this indie rock band’s charisma brightened up the room causing heads to bounce and smiles to emerge. Their humble thanks of appreciation for being able to take part in Red Bull Sound Select’s “30 Days In LA” may have been coy, but their music is far from it.

Both Claire England (bass) and Peter Richards (guitar) shared duties on vocals, and their repartee on stage demonstrated a kindred bond fashion by their fun brand of music that will surely endear more fans as they keep on rocking out new music.
