Echo Park, CA- Ella Vos likes to take her time. Ever since she dropped her first single “White Noise” in 2016 and Rolling Stone magazine noted her as one of 10 new artists that we needed to know in October 2016, she has been taking her time to release electronic pop-gems at a slow but steady clip. That single “White Noise? It has over 15MM plays on Spotify. The single “You Don’t Know About Me” that she released earlier this year? Over 5MM plays on Spotify. Her newest song “In Your Corner” that was officially released just days ago? It’s got over 170,000 Spotify plays. Ella Vos knows how to write engaging, spirited music, and people, including myself, can’t help but keep listing to it.

Throughout the month of June, Ella Vos toured the U.S. with her penultimate engagement at The Echoplex. This being a “hometown” gig for her, it would appear that Ms. Vos made sure that she gave her family and friends (and anyone lucky enough to attend) a little something extra to enjoy. In addition to her mellifluous voice delicately filling the venue as the stage lights danced its choreography to her melodies, Ella enlisted the nubile skills of a pair of dancers who gave her music visual life. It created a mood carefree and jovial, and definitely made her performance that much more magical.

When Ella invited Sharaya Summers (the front-woman for the Los Angeles based band Banta) on stage to perform “In Your Corner”, it was another musical moment that hit levels of sublime. As Sharaya accompanied the duo on an acoustic guitar, and their voices harmonized beautifully during the chorus, breathes were lost.

Ella Vos will be performing at a couple of festivals later this year, (Ohana Music & Arts and Life Is Beautiful), but I think it would behoove you to keep an eye out for when she’s in your neck of the woods. I think that you will be pleasantly surprise.
