MANILA, PH– Produced by the amazing team at CDM Entertainment, Begin Again started a new chapter in the concert scene by bringing the latest in KPop to the Philippines. CDM Entertainment was able to produce a show with some of the biggest rising stars in the K-POP music scene who are under the management of heavyweight Korean talent agency SM Entertainment.

This concert was the first time I have ever covered (and attended) a show in Manila, Philippines and it was at one of the biggest venues in the country, Araneta Coliseum (Upon doing some googling it happens to be the same place where the iconic Thrilla in Manila took place in 1975).

The show kicked off with the sextuplet girl group ALICE who opened the show with their hits “Summer dream”, “Jackpot”, “This is Me” and their latest track “Power of Love”. The girl group also took a short break to play the pirate game and engage with their fans to whom they promised to come back in hopes of having a solo show seeing as they are currently working on a mini-album.

WE WERE SWEPT AWAY BE WE-I

Another sextuplet group, but this time consisting of guys, the group WE-i has been in the industry since 2020 and has been going strong since. The group wowed the crowd with their intense stage presence and the fact that none of them were out of breath while singing live and dancing to their choreography.

The group was wowed by the intense reactions they received from the crowd and seemed quite overwhelmed and humbled by the cheers and screams from their fans. They’re definitely one of the groups K-POP fans need to look out for in the years to come.

GLITCHING FOR NCT DREAM

Although missing 2 members (Mark and Haechan) the 5 members of NCT who performed at the concert still gave their all to their fans and kicked off their set with one of their hits “Hot Sauce”. The show was also the first time they also sang “Dive” overseas and of course, they ended their set with their latest hit “Glitch Mode” which of course, left the fans wanting more.

KEY WAS SHINEE-ING

Key, a member of the OG K-POP group SHINee, proved himself once more as one of the best now solo acts in the industry. He undeniably has an intense stage presence with or without his backup dancers. He performed some of his biggest hits “Saturday Night” and “Helium”, he also jokingly reluctantly danced to “Ring Ding Dong” after he asked the crowd what other songs they wanted to hear from him. The 30-year-old also shared that his hotel was literally 2 minutes away and that he has since taken several showers since he arrived due to the Manila heat (can’t blame him it was literally burning hot).

Key then ended his set with mindblowing performances of “This Love” and “Bad Love”.

The concert definitely rekindled the crowd’s passion and excitement for live music.
