LONG BEACH, CA- There nothing more quintessential in the genre of reggae music than the music of Bob Marley and The Wailers. The Original Wailers is a reggae group formed by two Bob Marley & The Wailers guitarists, Al Anderson and Junior Marvin, in 2008. Though Junior no longer performs in The Original Wailers, Al still performs and leads the band.
Though The Original Wailers only released one five song album (which was nominated for Best Reggae Album Grammy back in 2012), their set was 30 minute set consisted mostly of covers of songs from the Bob Marley & The Wailers repertoire. At the end of the day, though, that’s all they really needed to do. If your band is named after one of the most legendary bands of all time in any genre of music, you can’t go wrong with playing the songs that the world knows and loves.
