BROOKLYN, NY- Brooklyn Steel was buzzing with excitement as Grammy-nominated artist Tycho returned for a stunning performance on his Infinite Health Tour, joined by his bandmates for another unforgettable night at one of his favorite venues, first playing here in 2017. Celebrating the release of his latest album, Infinite Health, on August 30th, 2024, Tycho is currently on a world tour that will continue through 2025. This marks his seventh studio album, and right from the opening track, it’s clear that *Infinite Health* captures the signature ambient, dreamy, and optimistic sound Tycho is known for. But this album also marks an evolution, with fresh textures and new energy that push his sound into exciting new territory. Lush with nostalgia and sophisticated electronic production, the album masterfully balances the chill, escapist vibes Tycho is famous for with a sense of forward-thinking innovation.

Since his breakout album Dive in 2011, Tycho has carved a unique space in electronic music, blending ambient sounds with elements of post-rock and chillwave. Over the years, his music has become synonymous with a sense of nostalgia and serenity, making him a favorite for fans seeking an auditory escape. With *Infinite Health*, Tycho continues to build on this foundation, but with a bold approach that reflects his growth as an artist. Longtime fans will notice subtle differences—like the richer soundscapes and more experimental arrangements—that signal Tycho’s dedication to pushing his creative boundaries.

Brooklyn Steel, with its industrial-chic aesthetic and impeccable acoustics, provided the perfect backdrop for Tycho’s ethereal soundscapes. The venue was packed with fans of all ages, from longtime devotees who have followed Tycho since the early 2010s to newcomers who discovered his music through playlists and festival performances. The energy in the room was palpable, with the audience swaying to the music, entranced by the seamless interplay of sound and visuals. The intimate yet vibrant setting added to the magic of the evening, creating a communal experience that felt deeply personal despite the crowd.

The night kicked off with the psychedelic groove of “Phantom,” one of the standout tracks from the new album. The performance was enhanced by mesmerizing visuals on the LED screens behind the band, paired with atmospheric fog that enveloped the stage. A striking disco ball, hanging center stage, added a touch of vintage flair, while the dynamic lighting design cast playful reflections off the ball, complementing the vibrant projections throughout the set. The entire experience was a seamless blend of sound, light, and visual art, perfectly capturing the spirit of Tycho’s immersive live show.

The LED visuals were more than just a backdrop—they were an integral part of the performance, weaving stories of their own that mirrored the mood of each track. From dreamy hues of blue and purple during “Phantom” to vibrant oranges and reds during more upbeat tracks like “Totem,” the visuals drew the audience deeper into Tycho’s sonic world. Tycho’s team clearly put thought into every detail, ensuring that the production was as polished and immersive as the music itself.

The setlist was a seamless blend of new material from *Infinite Health* and classic fan favorites, creating a dynamic experience that kept the energy flowing all night. New tracks like “Conscientious Felt,” “Devices,” and “Totem” felt fresh and exciting, offering a glimpse into Tycho’s evolving sound while still retaining the signature atmosphere he’s known for. At the same time, the inclusion of iconic songs like “Spectre,” “A Walk,” “L,” and “Division” was a perfect way to tie the past with the present, bringing the crowd into a shared moment of nostalgia. It was clear that these tracks held a special place for fans, as the energy in the room seemed to rise with each familiar beat. One of the most personal highlights for me was “Awake.” Its opening notes of that guitar and bass riff hit with such emotional weight, sparking a rush of memories for me. Personally speaking, hearing “Awake” performed live was an incredibly special and therapeutic experience. It’s one of those songs that, when you hear it in the moment, feels timeless—like it’s both deeply personal and universally connecting at the same time.

Tycho is primarily an instrumental artist, with little to no lyrics in his music, yet the energy from the crowd was as intense as you’d find at any lyrical performance. Each time a fan favorite or a particularly powerful moment hit, the audience erupted in cheers, claps, and enthusiastic “woos.” The most electric reactions came from the constant handbanging and dancing that filled the venue from start to finish, proving that Tycho’s music connects with fans in a deeply visceral way, even without words.

Tycho is truly a must-see live. The production value amplifies the music, creating an immersive experience that draws you deeper into the sound. It’s an experience that leaves you feeling calm, happy, safe, and connected all at once.
