With a full band in tow, TwoLips unleashed a side of herself that was nothing short of exhilarating—a rock show that brought the house down and left many, myself included, reeling from the sheer power of it.
If you’re somewhat familiar with TwoLips’ sound, you might recall her tracks brimming with rhythm-heavy hooks and dance vibes—club-ready bangers that speak to the digital age. Her latest release, “Monogamy Heaven”, is a deft combination of introspective lyrics and simmering production that feels perfect for both headphones and night drives through the city. But what happened on stage at The Echo that night was nothing like the TwoLips I thought I knew. It was fierce. It was aggressive. It was the kind of show you’d expect at an OzFest presentation, with the raw energy of a heavy-hitting rock concert and the gritty confidence of an artist in full command of her craft.
TwoLips transformed into a fiery rock vixen. The rhythm section was thunderous, laying down heavy grooves and giving the entire set a muscular backbone. And if the band’s instrumentation felt familiar, it’s because it should—the unmistakable shredding of Lightfoot on guitar and the snarling, pulsating bass lines laid down by Max made for a dynamic duo that’s hard to ignore.
