LOS ANGELES, CA- Originally hailing form Iowa, brothers Mark and Michael Schoon moved to California 3 years ago to pursue the musical ambitions. I had the pleasure of catching this band (with Joshua Pomo on drums) play a set at the Whisky A Go-Go and they brought a high energy performance to the venerated stage.
Twenty 2 Salute is a hard rock band that incorporates elements of metal and punk in their sound, and they pumped out a loud and energetic sound during their performance.
While I don’t know too much about them, it would appear that they released their last full length album, The Early Collection, back in 2016. They’ve released a handful a singles since, with their most recent cut being “Nobody”, which was released on August 8th, 2018.
I chatted briefly with the guys after their set and they seemed to be bunch of really easy going and light hearted dudes. They spoke with me with the same kind of energy and excitement that they had on stage, showing a real glow in their eyes after performing; a look that I love seeing in new bands cause it showed how passionate they were about the opportunity to get their music out to new ears.
Twenty 2 Salute will get to get into more ears later this month performing at the Down N Dirty Fest in Adelanto, CA January 19-20. If you happen to be attending, you should check them out.
