RECAP: The first time I got to see The Record Company perform live was at a house party at Frank Sinatra’s old house back in 2013. A lot has changed for that band since that party and all for the better, and it doesn’t surprise me one bit. Their brand of infectious blues-rock “had me at hello”, and I’ve seen them play live over half a dozen times.
This was the first time that I’d seen them play in about a year, but it wasn’t of my own choosing. They’ve been touring relentlessly opening for the likes of B.B. King, Social Distortion, Buddy Guy, Grace Potter, and Trombone Shorty around the globe for what feels like forever, and with the single “Off The Ground” from their most recent album earlier this year reaching #1 on the US Billboard Adult Alternative Songs chart, there’s no doubt in my mind that the sky’s the limit for this trio.
