For a split second, I thought about lumping in ABJO’s DJ set as one of the openers for Snakehips with another one of the openers, but I just couldn’t do it. Now that “30 Days In LA” has concluded, and upon retrospect, I can easily say, hands down, ABJO’s DJ set was my favorite DJ performance during the whole month.

His mix was seamless, and he played cuts that, when put together, all made sense. Where some DJs will just lump together tracks for the sake of having recognizable crowd pleasers playing, ABJO’s DJ set not only did that, but was sonically untouchable, with drum beats and fades and chord progressions and hooks all effortlessly melding together into one unified performance. I would expect no less from any member of the Soulection collective, let alone of their “originals”, and I was glad to hear those high standards maintained.
