The 2017 Brooklyn AFROPUNK Festival lineup includes Sampha, Thundercat, SZA, Willow Smith and much more with stages curated by Saint Heron and Kaytranada has announced a new wave of artists to the lineup. Now included in Sunday’s lineup is headliner Raphael Saadiq, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, and Ho99o9.
The two-day event has attracted the likes of 60,000 festival goers last year and will once again feature Activism Row, the Bites&Beats pop-up restaurant and food truck rally. The SpinThrift Market and new Pink Stage will feature some of the most exciting punk and hip-hop acts out right now. It’s headlined by festival favorites Ho99o9 and featuring Burn, B L A C K I E, Unlocking The Truth, The 1865, Pay To Cum, Rebelmatic, Bloodplums and The Txlips.
The SpinThrift Market showcases and celebrates the best of the AFROPUNK maker community. With 90+ DIY-minded craft vendors who sell an array of one-of-a-kind and bespoke, jewelry, natural beauty products, apparel, housewares, books, prints, and more. Some of the vendors this year will include Hi Wildflower, Afrodesiac Worldwide and Dopecity.
Bites&Beats is a food event within the event, featuring 25+ food trucks and local pop-up restaurants. AFROPUNK curates an experience for everyone from vegans to paleo’s featuring tastes from around the world that include: Excell Kingston Bakery, Cafe Habana, Johnâs Juice, Madiba, Taste Of Africa, Sweet Chilli and much more.
The festival will continue to keep affordable paid as well as earned ticket programs active, even as the brand expands from its Brooklyn roots into the global arena.
