WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA- I’ll admit it—I’ve been sleeping on Qveen Herby. After catching her performance at Outloud for WeHo Pride this year, I’m kicking myself for not showing up to one of her shows sooner.
Before she became the genre-blending powerhouse known as Qveen Herby, Amy Renee Noonan was one half of Karmin, the pop duo that rose to fame on YouTube in the early 2010s. Karmin’s sharp, sassy sound—marked by viral hits like “Brokenhearted” and “Hello”—paired Amy’s vocal and rap prowess with the production chops of her husband, Nick Noonan. I quite enjoyed Karmin’s music, but never had the chance to see them live before Amy launched her solo career as Qveen Herby, with Nick staying behind the scenes as her producer.
