Music and memories will echo over and through the tombs of the celebrity cemetery as as punk legends Billy Idol and Steve Jones (of the Sex Pistols) are confirmed to play some amazing acoustic songs at this year’s Johnny Ramone Tribute.
The performance is the latest addition to the festivities, which will feature a screening of one of Johnny Ramone’s cult classic favorite films, Buffalo ’66, with an introduction from the wildly eccentric director, writer, and star Vincent Gallo. The tribute will also include a Ramones Exhibition in the mausoleum featuring items from Johnny and Tommy’s personal collections of leather jackets, guitars, awards and memorabilia which will surely be a go-to for anyone whose got an ounce of punk in their blood.
Join celebrity guests Fred Armisen,, Shepard Fairey (who will also have some original art on exhibit), Mickey Rourke, Rosanna Arquette and more as they celebrate the life and music of Johnny Ramone (and also Johnny’s friend Chris Cornell who has been laid to rest right next to Johynn) in what will no doubt be a memorable experience.
The Johnny Ramone Tribute is a fundraising event for the Johnny and Linda Ramone Foundation, which provides funding for Dr. David Agus at the Center for Applied Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine at USC.
