LOS ANGELES, CA-  Have you heard of Peach Tree Rascals? We JUST stumbled on this LA-based collective and we can’t get enough of their eclectic and charming musical stylings. How can I describe Peach Tree Rascals?….. Maybe Rex Orange County with a Hip-Hop/R&B flare? Does that even do Preach Tree Rascals justice?

These young men have got a style and sound that’s fresh and unrestricted. They seem to pull from a variety of influences, and while some may think that have too many ingredients in a pot may dilute the overall quality, I’ve listened to all of the music on their Spotify account multiple times and it all flows seamlessly together.

Their newest single, “Things Won’t Go My Way” is their first single with 10K/Homemade Projects (Trippie Redd, Surfaces), and it has a Gym Class Heroes type vibe, with a little more of an alt-rock sonic. Of the song, the band has said:

This song is special to us because it reminds us of something that’s often difficult to put into words. We always try to justify that there’s a particular thing preventing us from doing something, but at the end of the day – it always comes down to the fact that it’s a mindset and you’re often preventing yourself from getting where you want to be. We think everyone has a moment where they experience self-doubt, or like they’re not able to perform their best. When we wrote this song, we thought a lot about how there are people, or how your own mind will try to drag you down and make you feel like you’re not good enough. In the end, we’re all just trying our best and it’s about acknowledging that, knowing that we’ve all been there and felt that and that you can turn that feeling into something positive.”

The official music video for “Things Won’t Go My Way” uses The Truman Show as its inspiration. It’s a fun and carefree incarnation of the vibe that they say is what they are all about:

“We hope you have as much fun watching this as we did making it. It was fun to poke fun and make light of a bunch of negative situations. We tried to show that you can’t help but laugh at yourself when you go through something like that.

Peach Tree Rascals is comprised of producer/mixer Dominic “Dom” Pizano, rappers-singers Issac Pech, Tarrek Abdel-Khaliq, Joseph Barros, and creative director Jorge Olazaba. They’ve been building their fanbase while working through various jobs including working at Red Lobster and their local print shop. I have a feeling if they keep this trajectory going, they won’t need those side hustles.
