It was revealed a few months ago that Nike has officially made a signature shoe for Indiana Pacers star small forward Paul George. Dubbed as the Nike PG 1, the shoe was expected to release back in August.

So far, we have heard nothing about the sneaker. Did Nike scrap the shoe? Not to worry, because it looks like we finally have our answer on when you can grab your hands on a pair.

Nike’s brand president Trevor Edwards revealed that the shoe will release sometime in 2017.

Paul George’s road to the world stage has beenpaul-george-nike-rise-recap
an arduous one. His two-way commitment to
offense and defense propelled him to become
an All-Star and fan favorite. He earned his
reputation as one of the league’s grittiest
competitors with his play on the court, then
earned it all over again in his comeback from
the harrowing leg injury. Now, back in top form
and in full possession of his game, he’s looking
to make up for the time he lost. His goal to be one
of the best will bring out the best from his team.
