West Hollywood, CA- Clive Davis is an American record producer and music executive who is one of the few non-performers inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His impact in the music industry reaches back all the way to the 60s, and it’s virtually a lock that some of the music you have in your “favorites” playlist, he’s had a hand in. From Barry Manilow to Whitney Houston, from Earth, Wind & Fire to Aerosmith, Pattie Smith, The Kinks, Dionne Warwick, Carlos Santana, Babyface, Alicia Keys … the list goes on and on.
“Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives” is a documentary that chronicles the historic influence of “The Man with the Golden Ears,” who rose from humble beginnings, and in a compelling and riveting journey, became one of the music industry’s most iconic figures. Directed by Chris Perkel and based off Davis’ 2013 bestselling autobiography, the film is an inspiring story of courage, resilience, talent, and an unwavering commitment to excellence and features interviews with many of these iconic artists, music industry titans and more as they look back on a career that has created the soundtrack for three generations of American culture.
On September 26th, 2017, the film had it’s L.A. premier at the Pacific Design Center Silver Screen Theatre, and a who’s who of guests came out to celebrate the occasion. The film is currently available to view on Apple Music and is currently in a limited theatrical run.
