Born Cashes Clay the native of Kentucky converted to Islam and changed his name to Muhammad Ali during the height of the Civil Rights movement in the U.S.. Ali was a powerful figure in both sports and politics throughout the 1960’s and 1970’s. He passed away in Arizona at the age of 74 on June 3, 20016.
