WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA- There’s no mistaking Flyana Boss when they hit the stage. Decked out in unapologetic flair and armed with bars that bounce between hilarious, heady, and heartfelt, the duo brought the heat to West Hollywood Park with a set that felt more like a sonic cartoon explosion than a traditional rap show—and that’s entirely the point.
A few years ago, I caught Flyana Boss performing at The Foxhole. Back then, their chemistry was undeniable, their energy electric, and their sound infectiously off-kilter. But at Outloud Fest 2025, they’ve gone full supernova.
“Wow. Now it’s just even more of what we are,” they told me after their performance.
“More energetic, more fun, more charismatic. More puns. Our bars have gotten better with life experience. And our sound? It’s like early 2000s fun girly rap.”
Their evolution has been shepherded by longtime producer and executive producer Marky Style (aka Big Mark), whose fingerprints can be heard on their sound’s distinct blend of humor, hyperactivity, and hip-hop precision. This year’s performance wasn’t just a victory lap—it was a coming out party of sorts for a duo fully stepping into their power.
Best known for their viral hit “You Wish,” which sparked a storm of running videos across iconic locations and earned a Missy Elliott remix, Flyana Boss have always known how to make an entrance. But now, with a brand-new single set to drop and new visuals in the pipeline, they’re not just entering—they’re taking over.
When I asked if their new track “C*nt” was tied to Pride, they grinned and confirmed: “Yes. Celebrating everything “cunt, cunt, cunt, cunt!” It’s a wonderfully nonsensical line, delivered with joyful bravado—exactly what makes Flyana Boss who they are.
Their set at Outloud Fest was an explosion of color, movement, and queer joy. Every line, every bounce, every beat was met with squeals from a crowd ready to party. As performers, they understand tempo and tone as well as timing and TikTok—and they know how to connect, not just with fans, but with the full power of community.
“It means everything to us,” they said about performing at Outloud Fest. “The LGBTQ-plus community is like everything that we embody. We are always embraced, and we embrace back.”
Having asked for years to be booked at Pride, the set felt like a culmination. But it also felt like a beginning—because Flyana Boss aren’t slowing down anytime soon. “New visuals,” they teased before wrapping our chat. “Elevated, elevated, elevated Flyana Boss. Flyer than ever before.”
At Outloud Fest, Flyana Boss didn’t just perform. They launched themselves further into orbit. And judging by what’s next, they’re nowhere near finished.
