R&B fans need to keep an eye on this one. Dizzy Fae, a 17 year old vocalist from Saint Paul, Minnesota is a talent who appears to have talent beyond her years, and during her short performance at Club Bahia for Red Bull Sound Select’s “30 Days In LA” she did more than enough to perk a few ears and garner a few more fans.
Her voice is light and inviting, and glides upon the heavy, electronic instrumentals that she has programmed to back her. There’s a mood that she creates with her sonics, and it woos you into the intimate world of which she sings. Truth be told, it was such an intimate vibe that she created that I was actually taken aback when I found out that she was so young.
When I discovered that she was spending some time during her stay in Los Angeles in the studio with Harriet Brown (another Red Bull Sound Select Artist who opened for Bibi Bourelly a few days later at another “30 Days In LA” event), I got a little giddy. Hopefully, that collaboration is going full steam because I think that that would be a perfect melding of like-minded musical souls.
