RECAP: Here’s a little known fact. AronChupa (nee Aron Michael Ekber) is a Swedish footballer. He also just happened to have a number one record on the Swedish Singles Chart with his 2014 track “I’m an Albatroaz”. The track also reached number 25 in the UK and number 10 in the US dance charts.
Though he is a member of the electronic collective Albatroaz, he performed solo at Stockholm, CA and spun his infectious dance tracks as the sun set began its descent in the west. He did receive an assist though, as his sister, Nora Ekberg p/k/a “Little Sis Nora”, joined him on stage to sing several songs, including his chart topping Albatoaz hit. Little Sis Nora’s surprisingly powerful vocals impressed me, and their familial stage banter on stage was definitely a joy to watch.
After his sister left the stage, and as the LED screen behind him lit up with hyperactive visuals befitting a non-stop rave, the Stockcholm, CA crowd started to get their groove going which eventually had them breaking a sweat to his trancelike rhythms.
