SUBTRONICS Brought The Dubstep Fuego To Elements Fest NYC And Incorporates Fun Little Moments That Remind Everyone That They Are Not In Control
NEW YORK, NY- Up until this point, the festival was mostly house and techno music with the occasional switch-up. Subtronics was the first act that was straight up, face-melting dubstep, and boy did he bring the fuego.
Also known as Jesse Kradon, this is one of my favorite rising stars in the EDM world. Mostly dwelling in the bass-driven sub-genre known as “riddim”, Subtronics’ uses a combination of crazy sounds and earth-shattering bass drops to make the crowd go completely nuts.
It’s rare to come across dubstep producers that are as self-aware and conscious of their place in the world of music as Jesse is. Subtronics incorporates fun little moments that remind everyone in attendance that they are not in control. He is, and he intends on keeping you guessing. Right before the nauseatingly overplayed drop “Stop acting like a bitch get your hands up”, Jesse cut it right after “Stop” – and mixed in a robot voice that interrupted, “Stop playing this motherfucking song. I’m so sick of hearing the same thing over and over again…” and then proceeded to the drop, way heavier than any of the rest. Stuff like that keeps me on the edge of my seat whenever Jesse is at the tables.
