Shoreline Mafia Takes Over The Shrine In Los Angeles Two Nights Needed For L.A.'s Own Shoreline Mafia
LOS ANGELES, CA- The first time I discovered Shoreline Mafia was at their set for Smokers Club. Fans were booking it to the stage, mobs were pushing through security, and girls were screaming at the top of their lungs. From festival line ups to selling out two shows at the Shrine, Shoreline Mafia has come a long way. The energy was at an all-time high in the auditorium; packed with longtime fans anxiously waiting for the group to grace the stage. All eager to see openers like Rucci, Shordie Shordie and much more. DJ Cypress Moreno led the party for OFF THE X TOUR and Shoreline Mafia came out with their biggest hits like “Musty,” “Bands,” and “Nun Major.”
Although some technical difficulties broke out with the stage being overcrowded; the fans maintained their energy and kept it going. As the show went on, a highlight of the night was when the group brought out All Money In signee, J Stone. Their performance of “Money Gang” had the crowd going wild. In a symbolic way, the performance brought two different L.A. cultures together for the first time. Ohgeesy acknowledged the moment by telling fans to come together and stop with the bullshit.
Despite joining forces on stage, an altercation broke out in the parking lot with J Stone’s entourage and some of Shoreline’s extensive crew. However, the respect remained neutral for both sides. Shoreline Mafia represents a new wave of rappers in this generation. Unapologetically drinking lean, popping Xanax like its candy and remixing news broadcasts in their most popular tracks. A phenomenon for hip-hop in Los Angeles and a movement of freedom that many of their listeners connect to.
