On June 11th, New York City will host its very first annual The Other Festival at Spring Studios. Featuring an all female line-up, The Other Festival will bring together some of the most respected female entrepreneurs, influencers, trailblazers and philanthropists from the music, fashion, film, art, food, design and technology worlds and provide them with a platform to share their experiences on what it means to face and overcome challenges in the modern working world.
Some notable speakers scheduled for the event are Rosario Dawson (actress, activist, entrepreneur), Melissa Ben Ishay (founder of Baked By Melissa), Reshma Saujani (founder of Girls Who Code), Stephanie Mark (founder of The Coveteur), Naomi Campbell (model, actress, entrepreneur), and Lauren Maillian (Host on Oxygen’s “Quit Your Day Job”). The day’s festivities will conclude with a series of musical performances from such artists like Justine Skye, Natalia Clavier (Thievery Corporation), Brooke Candy, Yuna and Chelsea Layland.
General admission tickets start at $75 and can be purchased online at www.theotherfestival.eventbrite.com
“I’m proud that New York City will serve as the launching ground for The Other Festival. Women in business are the backbone of our economy. We want to make New York City a place to celebrate and support women. Through The Other Festival we are giving the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders the tools they need to succeed.” – Deputy Mayor Alicia Glen.
