Long Beach, CA- Starting our music on the main stage on the second day of Music Tastes Good was the Oakland-based indie rock band Jay Som. Led by Melina Duterte, Jay Som, despite some early technical difficulties, delighted the early arrivals with their dream wavy goodness.

Having released her first “proper” album, “Everybody Works”, earlier this year (she released an album in 2016, but that was more of a collection of demos, albeit really well-produced demos), she has been touring in support of it throughout the year. With her calm and almost fragile voice while performing, an undiscerning listener may miss out on the lyrical content of her catchy angst-filled hooks.
