I hadn’t heard of BRAEVES prior to Broke L.A., but I’m glad that I stumbled into the “Ball Pit” room by accident to catch their set. This four piece band played upbeat, indie rock that sounded as polished as anything that KCRW plays. Even with a substitute guitar player, and a few technical difficulties that delayed their performance a bit, they were able to play a set that made me log into Facebook to like their page.
The lead singer has a solidly pleasing voice, and their music is filled with catchy moments imbued with an almost effortless summer feeling that it gave me some old school Local Natives vibes.
