LOS ANGELES, CA-  The recent Woolsey Fire laid waist to tens of thousand of acres in Southern California. While the worst of the fire has passed, there were a handful of fatalities and the destruction of over 1,500 structures. One of those losses was the home and studio of Mike Garson.

If you are a fan of David Bowie, Nine In Nails or St.Vincent, then you are a fan of Mike Garson. A prolific and sought after studio musician, Garson is also “one of the very few ‘rock’ pianists capable of performing extended piano solos”.

Needless to say, Mike Garson is an amazing pianist, and a lovely human being that I had the opportunity to meet a few years ago. Mike has been the soundtrack to so many of our lives and it’s time for us to give back just a little.

Mike once said, “All the bad things, we need to trasmute into love and beauty.” Let’s honor him with love and support in this hard moment, turn this bad thing into some love and beauty, and help his GoFundMe campaign reach its goal. We could all use a little more music these days.
