Hollywood, CA- This show happened last month, but I would be remiss if I didn’t share my photos and let you all know that the band Harmful If Swallowed is pretty damn good.
Touring in support of the release of their 5 song EP “Sleepless”, they played an opening act set at The Viper Room September 16, 2017. This Los Angeles based trio consists of Greg March (guitar/lead vocals), Carlos Nieto III (bass/vocals) and Jay Pinfold (drums) and their short set left an indelible impression on me.
Their energy on stage stage matched the energy of their music. Greg and Carlos each flanked a side of the stage and exhibited sheer joy as they ripped through their repertoire. Greg would occasionally bust out a jump kick during a lick and Carlos would strike classic bass player poses and he thumped out his lines.
I was so excited by their performance- and their music- it had me bouncing up and down like college senior again rocking out to “Enema of the State” (A Blink 182 album), even though my body was draped with all my camera gear. In fact, I was so geeked about their set, when they offered to toss our free copies of their EP, I unabashedly raised both my hands and called for one.
I’m 40 years old, and acting like a kid. God, I love good music. And, FYI, I got that CD. Thanks, guys.
