This week’s music highlight involves fiery Colombian Jessie Reyez as she gears up to take over the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever, next Tuesday (6/27) as a part of The Kiddo Tour.

Jessie has gained nation-wide recognition after the release of her debut EP, Kiddo. In the project she talks about love, self-hatred, self-confidence, and women being mistreated within the industry. Her genuine spirit radiates throughout her music as she is seen and heard conveying her emotions on various topics in an effortless manner.

Jessie recently released a short film to accompany single, “Gatekeepers.” The film is based on her personal experience while coming up in the industry. It’s a strong message to young women that they can make it in the music industry without succumbing to pressure or becoming a sexual assault statistic.

You can catch Jessie Reyez at one of the remaining dates of The Kiddo Tour.
