LOS ANGELES, CA- Today, Friday, September 1st, 2023, Harsh Symmetry shares his sophomore LP Imitation via Fabrika Records.

The solo synthesizer-based project of LA-based musician Julian Sharwarko, 21, Harsh Symmetry combines the dark sounds of 1980s post-punk, minimal, and coldwave to produce a gloomy yet danceable atmosphere.

In a heart-to-heart, Julian confides:

“The album is very important and deeply personal to me.  [creating Imitation] was truly a labor of love… It came to me at a time and place when I really needed it […] I’m very proud of the finished product and seeing it enjoyed by my listeners would mean the world to me.”

For this project, he frequented the Moog grandmother and DX7 FM synthesizer. The track “Makeup Artist” was made using an acoustic drum kit loop. He adds:

“I’m very proud of the finished product and seeing it enjoyed by my listeners would mean the world to me.”

Since releasing his debut record Display Model in August 2022, Harsh Symmetry has accumulated global support and cemented himself as an instantly recognizable name among dark music fans worldwide. This year, Harsh Symmetry has played several shows around the US and made his first appearance at the Leipzig Festival in Germany. If the genius of Depeche Mode, the raw energy of Boy Harsher, or the ethereal vibes of The Birthday Celebration speak to you, then Harsh Symmetry is your next audio pilgrimage.

And for those in the City of Angels, a treat awaits. Harsh Symmetry is set to electrify the stage at LA’s renowned Substance Fest at the Globe Theatre this November 4th. Sharing the limelight with luminaries such as TR/ST, Buzz Kull, Houses of Heaven, INHALT, Madeline Goldstein, and a slew of others, it promises to be a night of dark musical enchantment.
