As the music world continues to mourn the death of Nipsey Hussle, Compton rapper Geechi Gotti is paying his respects with a powerful track called “Condolences.”
“A young 2Pac for this generation/You raised a nation on motivation/Face it, hater took your life with no hesitation,” Geechi raps. “Y’all seen his gangster, we seen his greatness […] Hatred, so I gotta keep a strap/ How a king get killed by a rat/Boy I swear this shit a trap.”
The song, featuring singer Poppa Chop, was accompanied by an equally powerful music video that was filmed in Nipsey’s hometown of South Los Angeles. Shots of a Nipsey-dedicated mural, the makeshift memorial outside his clothing store, and various graffiti messages saluting the slain rapper underscore his far-reaching legacy and undeniable impact on his community.

Geechi is best known as a battle rapper, who has gone head-to-head with Shotgun Suge, T-Top, and Tech 9, a Philadelphia MC who passed away last week. Geechi’s most recent project was 2018’s NoStudioN 3.
