LOS ANGELES, CA- There are thousands of artists who have to learn how to be sexy. They may have “a look”, but they need to be coached on how to have that sensuality ooze from the soul. Jesse Jo Stark doesn’t have to worry about that. It comes naturally to her.
Hosted by Dr. Martens, The Hi Hat in Highland Park hosted a free concert featuring the musical talents of 3 musical vixens. Topping the bill was Jesse Jo Stark, whose dreamy desert rock put lovers and those seeking love in a starry-eyed state of mind on Valentine’s Day.
Drenched is heavy purple lights, Jesse spent the night cooing her melodic originals to her fans. Dressed in an oversized trench coat which doubled as a dress, she effortlessly moved her body to the tempos of her band in a hypnotic way. If you decided to focus on her face rather than her figure, you could easily get lost in her beautifully pensive eyes as she sang.
Her music was oddly fitting for the Hallmark holiday. Drenched in themes of all consuming passion, her music is all about the trails and tribulations of finding love. That romanticism permeated The Hi Hat, and served as a righteous escape on St. Valentine’s Day whether you had a lover or not.
