“I’ll see you for the last Gambino album,” Childish Gambino told the Governors Ball crowd as he closed out his set with the hit single “Redbone.” After putting on what seemed to be the highlight of the entire music festival the actor, comedian and musician took his time to thank his fans and let them know that they are all in his heart.
Departing from comedic-series ‘Community’ in 2013, Childish Gambino born Donald Glover, has experienced a tremendous amount of success. Glover is currently set to play Lando Calrissian in the upcoming ‘Star Wars’ film and Simba in Disney’s ‘The Lion King’ remake. He is also working on the new animated “Deadpool” series and has announced that ‘Atlanta’ will return in 2018.
He seems to be pretty busy on the film side hence why music is taking a backseat. The FX series ‘Atlanta’ creator released his studio album, Awaken, My love just last year. His hit single “Redbone” appeared on Hits Top 10’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. He performed a host of songs at this year’s Governors Ball Music Festival including, “Me and Your Mama,” “California,” and “V. 3005.”
