Santa Monica, CA- If you have a Facebook account, you know Lemaitre’s music. Their song, “Cut To Black”, received worldwide attention when Facebook used the instrumental to celebrate the company’s 12th anniversary with a personalized “Friends’ Day” video that compiled photos and memories from your social media feed. I’m willing to bet that you’ve head that song AT LEAST a dozen times.

The Oslo, Norway “disco dudes” (<-per their own Facebook account), graced the Santa Monica Pier Twilight Concerts to headline the musical offerings on June 29th and had the beach city dancing until the very last note. As they performed their catch pop grooves for the masses, their trademark logo glowed upstage, pulsing vibrant and colorful lights during the performance. It was both a sonic and visual feast that instilled nothing but positive party vibes throughout the evening.

The energy of their performance on the Santa Monica Pier built up throughout the evening. While their music would have been enough to satiate the dance craving crowd, they went beyond the call of duty and treated the audience special surprise after special surprise. First, it was the up and coming recording artist Leah Palmer. Then it was the Albanian crooner Stanaj (who has been associated with Drake) joining Lemaitre on stage. Finally, as the coup de gras, a horn section joined Lemaitre on stage to fill out their already full sound.

While this particular week’s Twilight Concerts may not have matched the record setting capacity that was met at the prior week’s Khalid concert, it was all probably for the best as it allowed for at least a bit more space for people to dance the night away to the “disco dudes” music. It was the perfect concert for  stirring up those perfect summer party vibes.
