LOS ANGELES, CA- The kind of inspiration that “breakups” offer can be gold for songwriters.  M. Maggie (“M.”) has struck some gold with her latest single, “Faded Ripped Jeans”, which is an “implicit guide to growing out of toxic relationships and the realization of self-worth.”

When she soulfully croons, “You don’t fit the same on me”, you can only feel pity for the subject that she’s singing about. When asked about her inspiration for the song, M. says:

“I had a friend with this pair of jeans that was torn up and falling apart, but he wouldn’t stop wearing them. It got to the point where his ass was showing, I couldn’t get it out of my head […] I was going through long-distance limbo in a relationship when Brad Kuhn hit me with that piano part. The words and melody fell out of me so simply in less than 30 minutes.”

The smooth thumping bassline with the cascading keys floating in the background gives the song a passionate pulse, and as M. emotes with a contemplative tone, you can’t help but think of your own pair of “Faded Ripped Jeans”.

“Faded Ripped Jeans” is another single off of her anticipated Love, Sex, M. which is scheduled to drop later this year.
