Dabbla is back at it with ‘FUTD’, the slamming new single from the UK hip-hop heavyweight’s long-awaited second album, and once again he is supported by a quality video.
Featuring long-term collaborator Sumgii on production ‘FUTD’ sees Dabbla running his notoriously sharp tongue over colossal 808s and haunting samples, once more delivering white-hot lines with that tongue-in-cheek twist that keeps his bars riveting.
And never one to shy away from the cameras, this time around Dabbla takes an alien robot under his wing in the cinematic video for the track formally titled ‘Fuck Up The Dance’ – think a UKHH Wall-E, complete with shades and swagger.
This isn’t the first time Dabbla has sparked hype with his visuals as well as his tracks, with the animated video for his 2016 track ‘Psychoville’ racking up over 4 million views and counting on YouTube.
‘FUTD’ is the latest track to be taken from the upcoming LP Death Moves, which is set for an October 1 released on Potent Funk, but to satisfy your Dabbla cravings between now and then wrap your ears around a handful of other cuts from that record already out there in the big bad world, including ‘Devil You Know’, ‘Flying’ and ‘Hemisphere’.
Death Moves follows Dabbla’s acclaimed debut solo full-length Year of the Monkey, which is still making waves two years after its release, and the following mixtape Chapsville but the man behind the rhymes has been pounding stages with microphone in hand since well before Soundcloud, getting started in the drum & bass scene in the late 90s.
