LOS ANGELES, CA- I’ve been high on the band The Haunt for a minute now. Ever since first coming across the sibling duo of Anastasia Grace Haunt and Maxamillion “Max” Haunt, it’s been pretty clear to me that they possess the kind of chemistry and instinct that makes a rock band feel inevitable. The two have been making music together since childhood, and that shared history comes through in the push and pull of their performances, whether on stage or on record.
Their newest single, “Ghost,” is the latest example of why the band continues to build momentum in the alternative rock world. Driven by distorted guitars, pounding drums, and the dynamic vocal interplay between Ana and Max, the track captures the emotional turbulence of trying to let go of someone who still lingers in your mind. The band themselves describe the song as being about the feeling of a person still being present even after they’re gone, that moment when you look over your shoulder expecting them to be there, only to remember they’re not.

That tension runs through the entire track. Lyrically, “Ghost” leans into the kind of haunted heartbreak … (pun not intended…) that has long fueled great rock songs. Lines like “Our souls are tied together, and that’s still what hurts the most / ‘Cause all that’s left of you here is your ghost” land with a sharp emotional punch, while the hook carries the kind of melodic weight that begs to be shouted back in a crowded venue.
Sonically, the track continues the aggressive, cathartic tone that defined the band’s 2025 album New Addiction, but with an added sense of confidence and polish. The song was produced by John Feldmann, whose résumé includes work with acts like Yungblud, blink-182, and 5 Seconds of Summer, and his touch helps sharpen the band’s already volatile sound into something that hits with both force and clarity.

If you’ve seen The Haunt live, you know that their music carries an energy that feels tailor-made for the stage, and “Ghost” feels like it was built with that in mind. The band will soon have plenty of opportunities to prove it as they head out on The Hollow Crown Tour, kicking off March 19 in San Antonio and wrapping April 18 in Los Angeles. Along the way, they’ll share stages with acts like MISSIO, WesGhost, ThxSoMch, Oxymorrons, and rosecoloredworld.
For longtime fans, “Ghost” will feel like a natural next step in the band’s evolution. For newcomers, it serves as a strong entry point into a group that continues to refine its identity while holding onto the raw emotional core that makes alternative rock resonate in the first place.
More than anything, “Ghost” reinforces what has made The Haunt such a compelling act to watch over the past few years. Anastasia and Max have built something that feels authentic, volatile, and deeply personal, and if their trajectory continues the way it has been, there’s a very good chance we’re only seeing the beginning of where this band can go.
