AUSTIN, TX- At JADED and Balming Tiger’s SXSW showcase, much of the anticipation swirled around Korean recording artist LØREN. Recently signed to the 88rising roster, with scheduled appearances at Coachella and a fresh EP, “Put Up A Fight,” released on March 24th, 2023, LØREN, born Lee Seung-joo, was poised to reveal his distinctive rock sound to an eager audience.
LØREN broke onto the scene with The Black Label, lending his songwriting talent to Blackpink’s hit songs like “Pretty Savage,” “You Never Know,” and “Lovesick Girls.” His cameo in “Lovesick Girls” bolstered his fame while he continued to shape his individual sound, a fusion of grungy pop-punk, epitomized in his 2020 debut track “Empty Trash.”
Adored by women and envied by men, LØREN exudes a “rockstar cool” that is incredibly rare. Despite only witnessing two-thirds of his performance, owing to technical difficulties from the previous act, his charisma was impossible to ignore. His nonchalant aura, combined with an effortlessly stylish presence, stood out remarkably. Though his roots lie in EDM and pop, LØREN’s genuine rock essence was unmistakable. This aura, amplified by his raw and captivating voice, will undoubtedly keep his star on the ascendant.
