LOS ANGELES, CA- DJ Lady Faith is both a force and a revelation at the forefront of the male-dominated hardstyle scene. Known for her seamless fusion of euphoric beats, powerful basslines, and unmistakable Persian influences, she has spent years defying genre boundaries and expectations. Born in Iran but raised in America, Lady Faith’s music transcends borders—melding a global perspective with her own fearless artistry. Over the years, she’s not only carved out a reputation for relentless innovation but has also emerged as a mentor, empowering women to stake their claim in EDM.

Coming off a whirlwind year, Lady Faith’s momentum is unstoppable. Yet, it’s her ability to channel inspiration from across genres, be it opera, classical, or heavy metal, that sets her apart. Her passion isn’t limited to playlists; it’s embedded in a commitment to craft, one rooted in authenticity and a no-shortcuts work ethic.

Ahead of what promises to be an even bigger 2025, Lady Faith took some time to chat with Blurred Culture at Escape Halloween to reflect on her journey, her unapologetic stance on personal freedom, and the music that keeps pushing her forward.

Blurred Culture: What types of music do you think inspire yours? You’ve done mixes of classic pop and rock songs, among others. Would you say what you normally listen to day-to-day influences your music? Or do you actively seek out alternative genres and artists to incorporate into your style?

Lady Faith: I get inspiration from all sorts of genres. I listen to good music—no matter the genre. If it’s good, I listen to it, whether it’s opera or classical. I also love heavy metal, hip hop, and many other styles. My influences are broad because I don’t limit myself to a specific type of music. I appreciate music that’s done well and beautifully produced, and that’s what inspires me.

Blurred Culture: When you’re listening to new music, are you thinking about how to incorporate it into your hardstyle vibe? Or is it more subconscious—something that naturally comes out in your work over time?

Lady Faith: It’s definitely subconscious. I don’t single out a track and say, “I want to make something like this.” I listen, get inspired, and let it speak to me. If something finds its way into my productions, it’s because it’s been in my head, not because I’ve intentionally set out to replicate it. I work in my own world and experiment a lot, using different vocals and instruments. I don’t confine myself to a specific formula or box. My inspirations are absorbed naturally over time and come through organically in my music.

Blurred Culture: Are there other ways you express yourself beyond music? Like drawing, dancing, or reading?

Lady Faith: Not at the moment. There was a time when I painted a lot or sketched clothing designs—I even considered becoming a designer. But right now, all my energy goes into producing music and working out. Those are my two main outlets.

Blurred Culture: Do you travel much outside of work? Maybe for pleasure or inspiration—especially to Persia or other Middle Eastern countries?

Lady Faith: I haven’t been to the Middle East in a very long time. It’s not somewhere I want to visit right now because of the restrictions on women. Until things improve, I’ve chosen to boycott it. That said, I do take vacations once or twice a year to disconnect and have some private time. I don’t always share those trips, but I visit Australia often because I have family there. It’s a beautiful place, and I love spending time with them.

Blurred Culture: That’s understandable. It’s unfortunate what’s happening in some regions. One of my old coworkers was Persian and spoke with so much reverence for the beauty of the country and its people.

Lady Faith: Absolutely. Iran is stunning, and its people are incredibly kind. If you visited, you’d be welcomed with open arms. But for me, the government’s treatment of women—ruling with an iron fist—is something I cannot accept. I believe everyone should have the freedom to live and present themselves as they choose. Having grown up in America, I’ve come to deeply value personal freedoms. My experiences with the morality police in Iran make it clear that, for now, it’s best for me to avoid the confrontation altogether.

Blurred Culture: That makes a lot of sense. Hopefully, the situation improves in the future. Shifting gears, do you have anything exciting planned for 2025?

Lady Faith: I have big plans for 2025, though I’m not ready to announce everything just yet! But here’s a teaser: I recently did a remix for Angerfist, which I’m thrilled about. He’s an artist I’ve admired for a long time, so being able to remix one of his tracks is a huge honor. I’m excited to share that with everyone next year. There’s also a lot of new music and shows in the works, so stay tuned—2025 is going to be the year of Lady Faith.

Blurred Culture: That’s incredible! Reflecting on 2024, what were some of the key moments for you, both personally and as an artist?

Lady Faith: It’s been a big year. This industry has always been a boys’ club, especially in hardstyle, so earning respect has been a challenge. But this year, I got massive support from key figures, like Q-dance, who let me remix their track Wasteland. That was a huge moment for me. The same goes for working with Angerfist. These opportunities reminded me that all the hard work I’ve put in over the years is paying off. It’s been validating and deeply rewarding.

Blurred Culture: That’s amazing to hear. You’ve also been using your platform to mentor women entering the field. Do you have advice for someone interested in getting into EDM or DJing?

Lady Faith: First, have faith in yourself. This isn’t an easy road, and there are no shortcuts. You need to love what you do, love what you play, and be the best at your craft. That means practicing every single day if necessary. The competition is fierce—male or female—and to stand out, you need to be exceptional at what you do.

Blurred Culture: That’s fantastic advice. Any final thoughts or comments before we wrap up?

Lady Faith: I think we’ve covered everything! Thank you for having me.

Blurred Culture: Thank you for taking the time to chat with us, and for everything you do for the industry. It’s been a pleasure, and we’re all looking forward to seeing what’s next for you in 2025.

Lady Faith: Thank you! It’s been a pleasure speaking with you as well. Take care!
