NEW YORK, NY- If you’re anything like me, you spend a good chunk of time during the bitter cold winter months daydreaming about festival season. In addition to returning to your favorite home-away-from-home, a part of you wants something new … something fresh.
Each year festivals gain a new level of popularity and are embraced further by mainstream culture. Although there are a host of positive things that this brings, it also makes it harder to find authenticity and unique experiences in such an oversaturated world. Luckily, there are a handful, truly quality and authentic, fests that are put together by people with the right idea in mind. Elements Lakewood is one of these festivals.
What I love most about Lakewood is the melding of high-end mega-fest production with the lowkey vibes that give you a chance to really lose yourself in the moment. In addition to a ton of immersive art installations, workshops, and activities outside of music, we’re told to expect 7 stages – boasting over 100 acts over a 3 day period of non-stop bliss. Disclosure (DJ set), Big Gigantic, Damian Lazarus, FISHER, Justin Martin, Seth Troxler, Shiba San, Grammy-nominee Sofi Tukker are billed as the headliners – but don’t sleep on the lesser known acts!
The people at Elements are legends when it comes to curating the best of the best. It’s challenging to create an atmosphere that enthralls without overwhelming, but the good people at Elements Lakewood have pulled it off twice, and we’re told to expect bigger and better in 2019.
