LOS ANGELES, CA- For a band that’s been in the game over two decades, All Time Low still know how to write a song that hits you like a, well… suckerpunch.

The Maryland-bred quartet’s new single “Suckerpunch” is a thumping, hook-laden anthem that blends arena-rock swagger with pop sensibilities—equal parts polished power-pop banger and classic ATL charm. It’s arguably one of the band’s catchiest tracks in years, and despite its heavy lyrical themes of emotional bruising and parasocial rage, it somehow manages to sound fun as hell.

“You pour your salt in my cuts and call it seasoning,” frontman Alex Gaskarth snarls early on, before unleashing a chorus destined to be screamed in packed amphitheaters: “I’m just some motherfucker you’re dying to sucker punch.” Despite its sharp lyrical jabs, the melody leans surprisingly pop—bright, buoyant, and slickly produced. If you’ve been holding onto an early-2000s version of All Time Low, this is the part where you recalibrate.

Visually, the song is bolstered by a surprisingly sentimental and cinematic video, centered on a stuntman named Axel reflecting on the most death-defying moment of his career. The video’s bookend monologue gives the track emotional heft:

“In the end, I figure this. You don’t gotta be everything to everyone. You just gotta matter to someone. And if you’re remembered? You’re never really gone.”

It’s a poignant nod to longevity—something All Time Low knows intimately. And the final scene, with a mysterious old man at the bar giving a wink to the camera, is a cheeky way of letting fans know the legend lives on.

Sure, “Suckerpunch” may be more polished than raw, and its power-pop lean might surprise some OGs—but that sheen doesn’t take away from its punch. In fact, that’s what makes it land even harder. The band isn’t trying to relive pop-punk glory days—they’re evolving, and somehow still managing to make their bruises gleam.

With a massive fall tour ahead—including slots at Red Rocks, When We Were Young Fest, and Warped Tour’s Orlando return—“Suckerpunch” feels like the perfect track to rally both old fans and new ones alike. All Time Low aren’t just hanging in—they’re swinging.
