In this episode, we spend the day with Chef Curtis, the visionary behind some of the best meat-centric dining in the world, and Marcell Hatten, as they step out of the Gwen kitchen to show us their favorite LA haunts. From raw bar staples to Michelin-starred Korean innovation, this is how the pros eat in the City of Angels. And thank you Discover Los Angeles for partnering with us on this video to bring it to life!!

Found Oyster (East Hollywood) We kick things off at Found Oyster, a tiny jewel box making massive waves in the LA seafood scene. Inspired by New England oyster bars but refined with West Coast flair, this spot is famous for its Lobster Bisque Rolls and the freshest daily selection of bivalves. It’s the ultimate “chef’s hangout”—casual, loud, and serving some of the best crudo in Southern California.

Budonoki (Virgil Village) Next, we head to Budonoki, the modern Japanese izakaya that has become a Virgil Village sensation. Known for its “club meets pub” energy and neon-lit atmosphere, Chef Dan Rabilwongse delivers playful small plates like DIY Spicy Tuna Handrolls and Thai Pork Sausage. It’s fusion done right, blending Japanese tradition with Southeast Asian soul.

Restaurant Ki (Little Tokyo) We move to the heart of Little Tokyo for an intimate experience at Restaurant Ki, led by the 2025 Michelin Young Chef Award winner, Ki Kim. This 10-seat counter is redefining New Korean Cuisine. We taste his viral Grilled Lettuce Ice Cream with Caviar—a masterclass in technique and flavor balance that has made this one of the hardest reservations to score in Los Angeles.

Gwen (Hollywood) A trip through LA isn’t complete without a stop at Gwen. Part European-style butcher shop, part world-class steakhouse, Gwen is Chef Curtis Stone’s love letter to fire-based cooking. We go behind the scenes of their dry-aging room to see how they source the best steaks on the planet before watching the team prepare their signature 30-Day Dry-Aged Rib-Eye over an open flame.

Bar Benjamin (Melrose) We end the night at Bar Benjamin, the sultry, Art Deco-inspired cocktail lounge perched above The Benjamin Hollywood. This exclusive “upstairs” destination is where we find the city’s most creative mixology. From the Tzatziki Martini to the iconic Dirtier Martini (served with zero shame and extra capers), it’s the perfect end to a night in Hollywood. This is Los Angeles through the eyes of Michelin-caliber chefs—raw, sophisticated, and undeniably delicious.
