LOS ANGELES, CA-

Ruby Red is the L.A. based indie-pop duo of  Daniel Laner and Fernando Fine. The two friends have been playing music together for years, but finally joined forces to created music under the name Ruby Red in 2018. Their latest single, “Superbloom”, is a funky cut that stirs up some serious Brazillian disco vibes that hints at Parcels, Tame Impala and Toro Y Moi.

Per the band, “Superbloom” represents the burgeoning next step in a relationship, after it’s been established that there’s a mutual attraction.  They went on to tell Blurred Culture that:

“The concept of ‘Superbloom’ came from thinking about that one girl who’s so attractive, she has to be aware of the effect she has on people. As we tried to imagine her perspective for a bit, the song came to be about the feeling that we had towards her is in no way special or unique because she’s numb to guys feeling that way, even though it feels important to us.”

We’re feeling “Superbloom”. What do you think? Let us know in the comments!
