Norco, CA-  First of all, congratulations are in order for Rodney Atkins as I just heard that he and his wife are expecting their first child together. Second, a huge round of applause for Rodney repping the red, white and blue with pride at MuscleKingz inaugural car show and concert on July 1st, 2017.

Rodney Atkins @ MuscleKingz Car Show & Concert at SilverLakes Sports Complex July 1, 2017 || SetlistRodney is a prolific country musician, having won numerous awards and having multiple No. 1 songs on the charts (6, I believe) … and there’s good reason for that. His songs are big and anthemic, but rooted in his humble, southern upbringing making it accessible to everyone, even the those who aren’t fans of the country genre. His music speaks to the everyman, with his lyrics filled with sly humor, brutal honesty and honest sentimentality.

His repertoire couldn’t have been more a more perfect fit to kick off the July 4th weekend. Songs like “These Are My People” and “Take a Back Road” really seemed to resonate with the crowd, and when the introductory guitar/banjo lick kicked off “It’s America”, the voices in the audience sang along to the chorus which echoed throughout the fairground.

Afterwards, Rodney thanked the audience, and summed up the patriotic atmosphere of the festival by paying respects to the troops who are currently deployed by saying “It’s the land of the free, because of the brave.” Truer words couldn’t have been said.

By the time he concluded his set with his raucous and uplifting “If You’re Going Through Hell”, spirits and patriotism couldn’t have been higher, and it couldn’t have been a better way to kick off the July 4th weekend.
